Barcelona are left on a high alert after Pep Guardiola was spotted with agent of Uruguayan defender, Ronald Araujo.
After the successes of the winter transfer window, Barcelona have turned their attentions to extending contract renewals with key players of the first team.
Ronald Araujo has been a stand out performer for the blaugrana this season, arguably the best defender they’ve got.
However, there’s been a contract battle between the club and player as the wage demands of the defender hasn’t been met.
Araujo’s contract expires in 2023 and many clubs are said to be in pursuit of the youngster.
Recently, former manager Pep Guardiola was seen having dinner with Edmundo Kabchi, one of Araujo’s representatives.
This has sound the alarm bells in Barcelona, knowing fully well Manchester City would be a big threat to keeping the defender.
Araujo himself has stated multiple times his desire to continue at the club but wants his performances well compensated as he happens to be the lowest earning defender in the squad.
