Ngolo Kante, Jorginho and the FOUR top players who could leave Chelsea as free agents in 2023 (READ)

It’s going to be a very long season for both Graham Potter and Chelsea owner, Todd Boehly as they’ll look to build the team by signing players and as well try to keep a hold of their top stars too.

This summer, Chelsea lost both Rudigar and Christensen to Real Madrid and Barcelona for free having failed to reach an agreement with both players to continue.

Now, a host of first team stars will see their contract expire in the summer and Chelsea still haven’t gotten close to agreeing renewal deals with them.

Let’s take a look at the players Chelsea are likely going to lose for free next summer :

Jorginho

Italian International midfielder, Jorginho has been a Blues player since 2018 and ha splayed under several managers, however his contract is set to expire and the London club haven’t offered him a renewal yet.

According to reports, Jorginho has offered himself to FC Barcelona as replacement for Captain, Sergio Busquet who is rumoured to be leaving the club in the summer.

Ngolo Kante

Unlike Jorginho, Kante was offered a renewal contract which he rejected as it was considered not up to the standard of what he wants.

Kante has formed an important part of the chelsea squad since his arrival from Leicester City, leading them to a Premier League, Champions League and Europa Cup trophy amongst many others.

Kante is said to have rejected a two years offer, holding out for a three years and an additional year guarantee.

PSG and Juventus are said to be lurking around to steal him for free in the summer.

Thiago Silva

The Brazilian International arrived in 2020 as a free agent and has established himself at the back of the Chelsea defence.

Silva has played every minute of the Premier League this season but will also run out of his Chelsea contract in 2023.

It remains to be seen if he’ll be granted a renewal or allowed to move on.

Marcus Bettineli

The goalkeeper joined Chelsea on a free transfer in 2021 after being released by Fulham.

Bettineli has since acted as a third choice backup to Mendy and Kepa and has only made one appearance for the Blues against Chesterfield in the FA Cup.

The goalkeeper could be released in the summer as a new goalkeeper is arriving in January.
