“If the team improve their attacking play, Sterling will do better” – Graham Potter defends struggling Chelsea forward

Chelsea head coach, Graham Potter has taken time to defend his star forward, Raheem Sterling stating that the player’s recent struggles comes down to a collective problem.

Potter stressed that Sterling has been struggling because the team haven’t had fluid attacking plays.

Raheem Sterling has caught a frustrating figure at Chelsea over the last couple of games and has been heavily criticized for his below par performances.

Graham Potter himself is yet to find his perfect attacking lineup and has had to tweak his forward lineups every game.

Speaking ahead of their Champions League game against RB Salzburg, Potter said :

“I think it’s more a team thing. We have to try to do better as a team, improve our attacking play as a team, and then individuals can do better. I always want to look at how the team functions and there is a lot of improvement possible in that area and that will help Raheem.”
