How Arsenal and Barcelona could still meet in the next round of Europa League explained

Arsenal are having a season to remember as the gunners have been in scintillating form since the start of the season.

The gunners sit top of their league standings alongside their Europa League group but that position isn’t guarantee after their 2-0 loss to PSV on matchday 5.

Arsenal will go into matchday 6 with having no other option than to win in order to qualify as group winners to avoid the likes of Barcelona, Sevilla, Ateltico Madrid among others in the next round.

How Arsenal could meet Barcelona explained

Spanish Giants, Barcelona had an awful season in the Champions League and have been knocked out in the group stage for the second consecutive season.

Coming to the Europa League as UCL losers, Barcelona would have to play a qualification playoff against the second place teams in the Europa League group stages.

A lose for Arsenal against Zuerich on Thursday coupled with a PSV win against Bodo/Glimt would mean the gunners come second to face the UCL dropouts.

A knockout game between Arsenal and Barcelona would be an interesting one. A victory for Arsenal would however mean they avoid the Spanish Giants, at least, for now.
